Mazun / Future
Mazun, a name that was once used to refer to Oman, is a journey that places the unknown Sultanate of Oman on the map, exploring its diverse landscapes and rich traditions.
We composed the original music for the 9 chapters of this short documentary, directed by Manuel Alesanco and David Corrochano, with the support of the Ministry of Information of the Sultanate of Oman and the Embassy of Oman in Spain, employing analog synths (Juno-106 and Roland SH-101), acoustic piano, Mellotron and cello.
For this particular segment of the final chapter, which explores the future prospects of some of the documentary’s characters in Oman, the goal was to create a rather meditative, instrospective tone, that connects both with the environment and the human element. To achieve this, we blended synth pads, very wet cellos and processed Mellotron lines with the ambient sounds recorded by the crew.
